Just called this place to order dinner. The person on the phone sounded annoyed that I was asking questions about items on the menu and I asked him if he was. After a few more short and rude responses from him I asked him to just cancel my order. After reading previous reviews, I now understand that I am not the only one who has had this experience. Armand's, PLEASE fix this issue with the utterly rude people answering your phones. There are way too many options and I'm certain you're losing business.

Had the opportunity to finally try out some of Armand's Chicago Deep Dish Pizza...I thought it was very good!! It is a "chicago style" deep dish...not an actual so for that they did well. Also was curious and picked up the Thai peanut chicken alfredo...and I must say this was really interesting and different...I'd order both again. I didn't experience the horrific customer service on the phone nor in person...but based on reviews apparently that is an issue here. Perhaps they have addressed this. For DC I think this is really good pizza and I will order again at some point.

Deep dish is not on par with the Chicago greats it is the best in the Silver Spring area when it comes to deep dish pizza. I have only done delivery to date with only positive experiences with staff and delivery time.

Armand food is just average. Nothing special at all. I have tried their pizza and it taste like they use cheap ingredients. I tried their spaghetti and meatball and it tasted like something out of a can. Last time I was there, I tried an Italian sub with fries. The sub was edible but hardly something I would go back for. The fries were disgusting. I could not figure out if it was because they were cooked in old oil, or they were just bad. The service is also pretty bad here. I don't think I will be going back.

Ordered carry out. Customer service is lacking with rude folks behind the counter. Don't think they understand that Armand's used to be great and now consumers have far more places to choose from for pizza. And, the pizza smelled so bad after getting home that was not even touched. Still in the fridge untouched. Had an odor of stale beer and over ripe green peppers. Feasted on roasted pumpkin seeds. Will take my hard-earned dollars elsewhere for more quality and value.

So... this is suppose to be my experience into a classic DC pizza experience. Lumped in with notable regional locations as 2 Amys (meh), and the like... so this is suppose to be my escape to Chicago Deep dish. So what's the deal? Ordered take out, wait, was mentioned it would show up on time no issues. 2 pies and some wings for kicks. So what delivers? Well first off let's start with the wings. Generic. Buffalo wings, that are in some generic hot sauce. Nothing special here so let's move on. Deep dish pizza. One simple triple cheese to start with. Doughy. Ok. So then what? where's the flavor? not here, mostly a giant styrofoam dense block. So what's next? Well it makes sense to have a Chicago Classic Combo right? I mean this must be the benchmark of deep dish right? Why else would you put the name "Chicago" on it ? I mean what else but call it Chicago right? Here's the thing. I don't expect some joint in DC to "nail" a Chicago specialty that has been perfected for quite some time now outside of the Midwest. But I expect at least a pie from a pizza joint to be passable. So what happened? Chicago Classic is a doughy, bland, ordinary pizza. No hint of cheese or sauce or anything interesting. Surprisingly compared to most pizza joints this is not horrid, but it's bland, doughy, with no flavor that comes from the toppings. This isn't a grease pit, but it's bland and boring as heck. Why would I be in to a pie that's all dough with no flavor? Sauce? Meat seasonings? Hello tomato sauce??? I ordered a medium, a large, and some wings, and with tip out for next to 50 clams. Your pie isn't anything I need to fall over for... seriously. This is pedestrian. Look, I am not going to claim to have true Chicago pie, but your pie isn't cutting it for the money I pay for. Why would I spend this money when for half price I can get the same thing from some chain mass market place? I am not even asking you to nail a style that is not distinct to this area. At minimum, you should make a pizza I want to eat again. I don't claim to be a Chicago true deep dish expert (yes I've eaten in that city), but at least make a pie that tastes like something than air and cardboard. Seriously I am not sure why I would buy your pie compared to Papa John's which costs me 50% less. By the way PJs and their wings are nothing to shake at but your pie is twice as much and has no flavor and costs nearly twice as much. So where does that leave you? Guess I wont be ordering from you ever again. Forget the "Chicago" angle, just try to make a pizza that someone wants to eat again after the first bite.

A tasty, ordinary pizza place, although what they claim to be deep dish pizza isn't much like the deep dish I became addicted to during my years in Chicago. If what you are hoping for is the classic inch-thick with cheese and topping deep dish pizzas of Chicago fame, that's not really what they serve here (as you can see from the photos). They are tasty tho, and if you need a pizza place in the local area, they're a decent choice.

It was okay good pizza but not worth the price. Have tasted better pizza for less price. Not going to visit again. The person who helped me was very nice and polite

Chicago isn't simply one style of pizza. Having eaten pizza across Chicago, I can think of at least 7 different types of Chicago-style pizza. Armand's is none of these. Armand's provides a thick crust with a normal layer of sauce and cheese. The proportions are wrong, and the preparation is wrong to be Chicago-style. It's just pan. I can't say whether I'd go there again if I lived nearby, but it's definitely not worth the drive if you're not close. My quest for Chicago-style pizza in the DC metro area continues.

Always consistent. Their spinach and garlic pizza can't be beat for Chicago style deep dish. We prefer to order all our pizzas well done and I love to dip my crusts in marinara sauce. I'm so glad that one of the few locations left is near me. A MD/DC favorite!

Had a large deep dish, half Hawaiian, half original Chicago. I've never had a bad pizza here but tonight it was really outstanding -- lots of tomato sauce and cheese, generous toppings and everything tasted really fresh. The leftovers were almost as good the next day -- just a minute in the microwave does the trick. It also freezes well. It's not a cheap pizza but well worth $20.

If I could give zero stars, I definitely would. Not only did the food take an hour and 50 minutes to get to me (yes, thanks to the Eat24 app, I know exactly how long it took to get here), they completely screwed up my order. My Caesar salad was given away to another customer and the pizza was not only cold with congealed cheese, but covered in pepperoni and ham (I'm a longtime vegetarian and had very clearly ordered a plain pizza). And the restaurant wanted nothing to do with helping me - they were only too happy to pass it off on Eat24 and tell me Eat24 would take care of it and essentially it wasn't their problem. Which didn't do me a whole lot of good at 10pm at night with no food in the house and a broken ankle preventing me from going out to get any. Thanks, Armand's. Won't be back.

Me and my mama was looking for some pizza that she was not use to being from Texas (i.e. Pizza hut, Dominos) so I looked up here on Yelp and put in pizza delivery. Many places came up but I decided to choose and glad that I did! There wasn't many good reviews but I wanted to try them anyways so we ordered a medium deep dish veggie pizza with broccoli and a lot of other veggies. Got here in about 30 mins and after we opened it I was hoping it tasted as good as it looked and we was happy about how it did taste. I will definitely order from here again and it goes to show you can't always depend on others reviews sometimes you have to give a place a try even if the reviews are not good.

Recently got curious in my visit to the next door citibank and I stopped by Armand's for a slice and a sub, I've got to say their customer service is top notch, the food itself was up to par; their 3 cheese pizza and cheesesteak are good, better than most local sub shops (yes Tonys villa I mean you) but overall it was a great experience! I must dine again soon.

Great Greek pizza, makes for a great meal. Lots of feta, onions, olives. And they deliver! Look forward to trying some of the other neat specialty pizzas. Ate in one time. Decor is in need of overhaul, service standard non-fussy. Should wok on creating greener and less blah salads.

If you have ever had REAL Chicago style pizza then this place is not for you. The pizza is too doughy and not enough toppings including the pizza sauce and cheese. In addition, the waiter and staff were extremely rude who couldn't be bothered. I never write reviews but this place is not worth anyone's trip. Awful food, rude people.

If you like mouse poop and cockroach carcasses, this place is for you. Mice literally drop/fall/jump from the ceiling. I was there. I saw it happen. Chicago? No. Just pan pizza. Better than most pizza around DC, unfortunately. A word of caution: one of the worst restaurant companies in the metro area. Employees are expected to last no more than one year and are paid accordingly at about $8 per hour (drivers: $4.75), hence the sometimes crappy service. There are few Silver Spring options other than "M&Os", so I suggest ordering from them instead.

Fast delivery? What? We didn't receive our pizza until over two hours after we ordered. We called, but the service was terrible. The thin crust wasn't inedible, but I've had better pizza at a hospital cafeteria. The deep dish was much better, and their garden salad wasn't bad. We ordered through Foodler, so tipped in advance - but the driver apparently didn't feel that a 15% tip was sufficient, as he rang the doorbell for a second time, then ran away... Funny, but a little bit CRAZY!

They have excellent philly cheesesteak subs. I haven't tried the pizza. Their wings are big and tasty. The chicken alfredo is also very tasty. The only problem I have with Armands is the price. You get a philly cheese steak and some pasta and it's $20. The restaurant itself isn't very large. I wouldn't go there to sit down.

I would love to give this place 3.5 stars. The pizza is pretty solid but nothing special. I've had the deep dish Margarita pizza and it's heavy on the cheese and bread. Unfortunately the dough and crust is rather flavorless. I've also tried the Greek salad and while I liked the fact that it has some really interesting vegetables like artichoke hearts, everything tastes like it's out of a can instead of fresher ingredients. The salad dressing that comes with is a little on the sweet side for what complements a Greek salad too. I'm pretty partial to Mama Lucia's pizza and Greek salad which tastes so much more authentic and fresh. The one thing that Armand's definitely has that Mama's doesn't is the fact that they deliver! And every time they have been fast and always get the order correct. The prices are pretty standard and you get a lot of food for your money. Definitely recommend for delivery when you're too lazy to pick up your order.

I had the task of searching for a good Pizza place in Downtown Silver Spring for a company Pizza Party. We were tired of Z Pizza and nobody would vouch for Flippin pizza, so I found Armand's pizza here on Yelp! Great pictures! Thick fresh dough and amazing list of different types of pizza from typical cheese and pepperoni to exotic pizza's that give your taste buds delight lol! The company has already ordered from here 4 times in 2012 so far! Fast delivery and many compliments from the staff!!

It is expensive for what you get. The crust is tasteless, though the toppings are fresh and plentiful. I've been here twice and been sick twice, I'm not sure why. I won't return.

If you have a random craving for Chicago-style pizza AND are on your way from DC to Baltimore, AND like to listen to Romanian symphony ambiance - this is your best bet. I know that might be a stretch, but you never know.

The pizza is pretty good... not phenomenal Chicago Style, but certainly good enough to fill any craving. Great toppings, the sauce might be lacking a kick. I like adding garlic and hot sauce at home. I went in and picked up and they have some sort of buffet. I would dig that.

It's a chain but a good one. The sauce is very tasty. Better than other chains that are bigger. It isn't magic but it has a good flavor.

Mmm... pizza. Curtis had to fly to Chicago and back (in the same day) on Sunday. Naturally, he just wanted something quick to eat before crashing into bed from exhaustion. I was inspired to find a restaurant that offered Chicago style pizza, and Armand's is the closest to home. I ordered a large "Penta" pizza. Hot, thick gooeyness! Granted, it wasn't as massive or tasty as the pizzas we've had in Chicago, but it'll do. There were several slices leftover. Whatever, I LOVE reheated pizza. All in all, this is as good as Chicago style pizza gets in DC. At the very least, Silver Spring.

This was my first experience with "Chicago Style" pizza...and if this is how it all is, it will most likely be my last. The service was really not great...we were about 30 minutes away when we called to order for pick up. And was still on hold as we drove up...no one ever came back. We walked in and everyone was sort of just standing around talking. No one waiting in line, and maybe 4 tables with people. My friend said something about being left on hold and was told that they were having "kitchen issues." Not sure how that means they can't talk on the phone, but ok. We ordered a large Hawaiian and was told it would take 30 minutes. We came back and, after we paid, realized that around 1/4 of the pizza was burnt....as in almost completely black. Grrr. Considering that we had already waited a total of an hour, there was no way we were going to wait for another one. On to the pizza itself. I'm not sure if all the bread and cheese overwhelmed the flavors of the pineapple and bacon, or if there just wasn't very many toppings there to begin with. Either way, it didn't have much flavor at all. It was sort of like eating breadsticks with toppings and running out of the marinara dipping sauce. Either way, I doubt I'll be going back.

Oh, Armand's, you are my guilty pleasure. I know I shouldn't like you as much as I do, but I adore you! Utterly adore you! With your deep dish, gooey deliciousness, and the brilliant burst of flavor that hits my tongue as soon as I take a bite. The dough, cheese, sauce, and vegetables blending together into near-perfect nirvana. We'll ignore the complete and utter sketch of the parking lot, and the near suicidal left turn I have to make to get to you. You're perfect, darling, just the way you are. Too bad that my bathroom scale does not agree with me about your awesomeness.

Less than impressed with this place. This is definitely not Chicago-style deep dish, and they shouldn't advertise as such. When I walked in to pick-up my pepperoni pizza, I opened the box and, staring back at me, was the exact same pizza you'd see at any other chain pizza place. The price tag that went along with that Domino's-equivalent pizza was about twice what you'd normally pay for that kind of pizza. The taste of the pizza lived up to the look of the pizza, completely indistinguishable from and about as memorable as any other regular pizza I've ever had. If you want Chicago-style pizza, don't come here. If you want a typical chain pizza joint pizza, go to another chain pizza joint.

Sadly, pizzeria UNO is better pizza, but we eat here for location. The pizza is good, just not great. The biggest problem I have with this location is inconsistency with the pizza. Sometimes they are awesome, others not so much.

My dad and I visited the Silver Spring location recently during lunchtime on a weekday. We entered the restaurant and were not greeted by any servers. There were three tables with customers and the rest were empty. However, almost all the empty tables had plates and glasses that had not been bused. After standing around for a bit one of the staff behind the counter waved us to an open table. We waited for 5 minutes and no one stopped by to get our drink order or even give us menus. We noticed two other tables had no food and angry looking customers. If the restaurant had been busy this might have been understandable but there were only 4 tables with customers and a number of the staff were horsing around in the kitchen area. After waiting and seeing the lack of service we decided to leave. My dad used to live very close to the Silver Spring store and was a weekly customer for years. Most of the delivery drivers knew him by name. The food and service was excellent over the years, both in-store and delivery. My dad recently retired and moved from the area and *really* wanted some Armand's pizza. However the service we received on our last visit was unacceptable and we won't be returning to the Silver Spring location.

Note: I only had the thin crust. We got one white pizza with 3 cheeses, tomato slices, and bits of spinach - this is typically a slam dunk. It looked, felt, and tasted like cardboard. The pizza went stale before we were done eating it. I also got a plain (no toppings other than maybe extra cheese) & thin crust because that's usually how I test any supposedly good pizza place and native marylanders swear by Armands. It's garbage. I probably need to try the chicago style pizza but I can't see it being any better because my pizza didn't have good or even fresh crust, and that's a deal breaker. Period. I would actually consider papa john's before going to armands again, and I haven't been to papa john's in years.

I recently ordered from Armand's. While Armand's has excellent pizza, the customer service experience is not always very pleasant. I called back one minute later to ask if I could increase my order or was it too late, I was told it was too late, and then was hung up on before I could even say thank you. I too, work in an environment where I deal with people daily. If one is not skilled in dealing with others, they should not be in charge of answering the phone or any other form of customer service.

I love Armands pizza- it's a taste that's followed me since middle school, and it's just fantastic. Other pizzas are so greasy or full of preservatives- I end up sick afterwards! With Armands, you get what you pay for: great pizza that fills without the frills. They're Spinach and Garlic Deep Dish is my favorite- although cheese is, obviously, great too. This location has it's ups and downs, though: Ups: Prompt service, SEATING (which you almost never see in a pizza place anymore) and a huge variety of sandwiches, pastas, and other dishes for those people who just don't happen to be pizza lovers. Also, if you order online, you can actually build up 'ebucks' pretty fast- which, actually, has really saved me money! Downs: REALLY limited delivery area, the boundaries of which are very strictly enforced. For example, I live about one minute from the street that serves as their boundary, and they flat out refused to deliver to me...Which is sad, because of the next 'down'.. They traffic around their location is a ZOO! Very limited parking, right next to an intersection and squished between a few other small businesses..There is actually a parking lot across the street, but there are meters, and..You have to cross that STREET..I hate that street... However, it's all worth it for the pizza...If you can actually get it delivered! But still, if you're just picking up, the parking issue isn't so bad...

As others have commented, it's not real Chicago-style pizza but it's OK. Usually they do a fair job on delivery but right now I've been waiting over an hour for my delivery, and when we called them we got an indifferent, "We're busy today." Never mind that we're regular customers, who order often. No attempt was made to mitigate the wait by offering a discount, etc. If you like salads, they have really big salads, big enough for 2.

We just recently moved to the Silver Spring area so we are currently doing the requisite delivery food check-list: good Chinese place? Check... Good Indian food? Check. And now having found Armand's: good pizza delivery? Check. Most pizza lovers fall into one of three categories, defined by what they think makes a good pizza: the cheese lovers, the sauce fanatics, and the toppings connoisseurs. I currently live with a sauce junkie and since I feel that cheese makes or breaks a pizza, finding a pizza place we both agree on is rare, to say the least. However, Armand's has done it. I love the amount of cheese and toppings they put on the pie and my boyfriend adores the unique sauce they use. A few words of caution, though: if you aren't as sauce obsessed as my significant other, ask them to go a bit easy on the sauce ladling... even the boyfriend thought they went a bit overboard. Additionally, order from them BEFORE you realize you're hungry. They take a bit of time to deliver (45 mins to an hour on average) so prepare in advance.

I LOVE the Armands in Rockville and the original in Tenleytown, so it pains me to poorly review this location. The pizza is just so subpar here that I can't believe it's allowed to call itself Armands. I don't know if they have a crappy oven or what, but the crust is no where near the crisp of what it's suppose to be. It's such a huge disappointment that I never get to eat Armands these days even though I live within delivery distance of this location! Armands HQ, stop letting this location ruin your name! PLEASE!
(2)

Pretty good pizza, decent pasta, indifferent service gets three stars! My visits are almost always on Tuesday night when they have the pizza and salad buffet. I can't count on getting my favorite toppings but there will be pizza immediately available when I arrive, rather than the long wait. Armand's is a favorite delivery place for our neighborhood, but call before you get hungry because it takes a while to prepare and deliver. The puzzling part of eating there is the odd combination of having excess staff hanging around, the restaurant half empty, yet slow and disengaged service. I guess the servers would rather stand behind the counter and drink soda than actually serve people. If you're patient, great pizza can be yours! Note - this location is not wheelchair accessible because of the steps and the configuration of the front doors.

Every bite was just as good as the last. Hubbs and I came in after a massive Italian food craving attack. I needed carbs a needed them NOW!! (apparently, I don't know what was going on). We got the pesto bread as the appetizer; yum with cheese, pesto and sun dried tomatoes. Then, in a weird twist of fate as I was looking at their menu, my craving switched to Thai....it's cause I laid eyes upon their Thai Chicken Fettuccine on the menu and it sounded delish! I asked the waiter what he thought about it, "It's up there on my list of favorites here." Ok, I thought, let's see if his taste buds are functional. Hubby ordered the New Mexican pizza, but unfortunately couldn't resist the urge to ask what was on the Old Mexican. Oh no.....he didn't. Yep, he did and he was very proud of himself. The waiter was confused. I shook my head. This is rather funny isn't it? We went out for Italian and ended up with Mexican and Thai...well in the Italian way. The New Mexican pizza was delicious. The crust was excellent, not too dry, good amount of doughy-goodness and no grease puddles on the pizza. It was topped with ground beef, salsa, Colby jack, jalapenos and black olives. Awesome!! My Thai Chicken Fettuccine was HEAVENLY. Not too oily, nice amount of hot and scattered with garlic flavored chicken, grilled peppers, chives, cooked carrot shavings and peanuts!! Thank the lords for leftovers!! I think they put something in their food that turned my "shovel" switch on....I was seriously destroying the food and was more than happy to. The service was just fine at 8:30 pm on a Saturday night and my date and I left there completely satisfied. Sunday morning, we were eating the reheated pizza on the deck and enjoying the cool morning breeze and the filtered sun. What a pizza!

Armand's is not at all worth your time or your money. My husband and I have gone there about 3 times. We had faith in the place, but were let down. The last time we went our waitress forgot to bring our drinks and my husband had to ask for them at the front counter . It took about an hour to get our pizza, and this was for all three visits. Our waitress has been the same each time and she is pretty sloppy and slow.Over all you'll be better off going to the mall down the street and getting a slice at the food court.

Being from New Mexico I got really excited when I saw that they had a "New Mexican" pizza. I think if they had green chile rather than jalapenos on the pizza it would have been more authentic. The pizza was good and I enjoyed how filling each slice was. If you order a large you'll have enough food for 2-3 meals.

Very good pizza, try the barbecue. Deep dish is better than their thin crust.

We had very high hopes when we discovered a Chicago style pizza place near our new apartment in Silver Spring. My wife's from Chicago, and though I'll never shake my New Jersey roots and my preference for the vastly superior New York pizza, I grew up on Zachary's Chicago Pizza in Berkeley, CA and later Sicilia's Chicago Pizza in Boston and love a good Chicago pizza. Sadly, Armand's provided no such thing. We paid about $17 for a 'large' pizza, and got what would have been (generously) termed a medium at any other Chicago pizza place I've been to. On top of that, it simply wasn't even a Chicago style pizza! The crust was deep-dish style, but on top of that (fairly lackluster) crust was the standard array of pizza sauce, cheese, and topics that you'd find at any pizzeria that didn't even know Chicago had their own style of pizza. A proper Chicago pizza not only has a deep dish crust, but FILLS that crust with sauce, cheeze, and toppings. And sauce shouldn't be little more than a spiced tomato paste, it should be a thick, chunky mass of tomato, accented with basil and other herbs and spices. Most importantly, THE SAUCE GOES ON TOP OF THE CHEESE! Not only was Armand's pizza not good Chicago pizza, it was also neither Chicago nor simply good pizza. We will absolutely not be ordering from here again. For the record, and for those who don't know, THIS is what a Chicago pizza should look like: yelp.com/biz_photos/h9kW…

Pretty tasty: not the best deep dish pizza I've had, but good nonetheless. The medium size is plenty for two people - there is so much cheese and bread with every slice that it doesn't take much to fill you up! I tried the spinach and garlic "signature" style this time around... can't believe I'm saying this, but I think the garlic actually could have been stronger (I barely noticed it in there) - maybe it was just that batch, but the main flavors were from the cheese and the marinara sauce, both of which were great, but I could have just gotten a plain cheese pizza instead. It cost me $15 after tip to have a medium pizza delivered, about average these days... I wouldn't say it was BETTER than what you'd get from Domino's, but it is definitely different if that's what you're looking for. Delivery took about 30 minutes on a Friday night, on the short end of the 30-45 minute wait they quoted me when I called in the order. Nice guys both on the phone and delivering.

I love the other Armand's locations, and I have been to this location multiple times... and it gets worse every time. This review is from dinner with my husband 4/29/11 (Friday 7:00 p.m.). We ordered the buffalo wings and 1 large pepperoni deep dish pizza. The wings were disgusting, period. (fatty, small, lack of taste) To top it off, they got my husband and I sick. We know this because our stomachs hurt by the time the pizza arrived at the table 40 minutes later. I cannot believe they call this "deep" dish pizza. There's nothing deep dish about it. It's thick crust pizza with a little bit of cheese, sauce and toppings. The pizza was subpar; the other locations taste MUCH better. Skip this pizza spot. There are plenty of other good pizza spots around (Pacci's & Flippin' Pizza to name a few).

Great deep dish pizza. restaurant is kinda dank, but the food makes up for it. The wings are meaty and flavorful

I love this place! Yes, the lighting is bad, yes, the tables and chairs are old and creaky, but the pizza is good and the atmosphere is comfortable, like an old shoe. The only curious thing is the owner invested in a gigantic banner which hangs in front of the restaurant promising FREE POPCORN* on movie nights. Yes, free popcorn WITH AN ASTERISK, like there is some hidden way for management to avoid actually giving the FREE POPCORN* to anyone brazen enough to ask; some juicy little technicality known only to management by which the trap can be sprung and the route to the free popcorn sealed off if need be. The hilarious thing is trying to imagine the thought process that went into ordering thr banner: "We will lure the naive, popcorn-craving public in with this irresistible offer of free corn, but not so fast!!!! The popcorn wont really be free!!!! Mwah ha haha haaaaa....." Why not just offer free popcorn?..... No asterisk. The pizza is good. Armands: dont ever change. Love ya. Peace out.

I can't speak on their pizza, as I have only had a couple of their subs and french fries. The food is palatable, prices and delivery times are kinda sorta reasonable. Nothing about this place will WOW you, so just expect mediocrity if you choose to patronize Armand's. I was a little surprised when I swapped out a "side of fries" for a "basket of fries" to meet the delivery minimum; the "basket of fries" contents could almost fit in one hand. I would hate to see what the side of fries looks like. Oh yeah, the bread of half my sub was hella burnt too...

This is about the customer service I received, not a food review: I live in Nebraska and my little brother is working as an intern in DC this semester. I had just made homemade hot wings for a Super Bowl Party tomorrow and sent him the photo. We'd talked about how, without a car, he eats just basic chicken and salad and hasn't really ventured out in the cooking arena yet. He said I should send him some of the hot wings I had just made. I called Armand's to see if they would deliver wings to my brother's apartment, just to see if it was possible for me to even have them deliver and for me to pay from Nebraska and surprise my little brother with terribly unhealthy and delicious food. The lady on the phone was great. Gave me options for purchasing, looked up his address and said they could deliver there and that I could pay, no problem. While I have not eaten the food, as far as customer service goes for entertaining my very abnormal scenario, I'd say it was great! I'll definitely be trying to glean information about my little brother's schedule so I can send him a surprise, hot and delicious dinner of wings at some point in the coming few days! I'll post a review of what he thought about the food then.

Average food, average service. The lunch buffet is what I particularly frequent Armand's for, but this place lacks fresh pizza. They only serve the thick crust pizza first off, that looks like it's been sitting under lights for several hours and while I know it's Chicago deep dish, the Rockville location serves thick and thin slices which are delectable and frequent. This location also doesn't serve any chicken pasta or soup or anything else with their buffet, just salad. The staff... Eh. Nothing memorable. Go here if your in a hurry or a pinch but that's about it.

This is some KILLER deep dish. It's DEEEEEEEEEP, maaaaaaaaaan. The only thing keeping this from getting five stars is the horrible parking lot. We've not eaten there a few times because we couldn't park. You are not going here for anything other than the pizza and the awesomeness of being in a historical Silver Spring institution that's run by members of a band. I've been going here since the early 90's. It hasn't changed at all. It's dark, it's ugly, and it's amazing pizza.

Well dig it!!!! Service is slow as hell place is extremely out dated. The beer selection is small and the restrooms have herpes. The Cesar chicken salad was slammin, the deep dish pizza was Fiya

Ok.. So ya wanna know why it gets one star, because of service or should I say lack of.. If this was my first experience that would be one thing but this is my 3rd in as many years. So you desire pizza, you decide on calling Armands, well don't ask for delivery or you will go apoplectic because they won't show up for 2 hours.. Yep, 2 freakin hours for slightly above average pizza.. I've experienced this the first time I ordered and then avoided it for a year.. Tried a second time and after 2 hours I called and they informed me it had been sitting there because they thought I said for pick-up.. Tonight was the final straw, 2 hours waiting and told 2 times on the phone "it's on its way".. Simple bull shit.. I get when you're busy, I get traffic, I even get when you make a mistake.. What I don't tolerate is simple lying. So F O Armand's, I bid you adieu and you're crappy pizza too..

Placed an order for delivery. The girl who answered immediately put me on hold. The person who answered and took my order was "extremely" rude. It took about an hour for the food to arrive and of all things, my husband's calzone was missing and the fries were cold. When my husband called to complain. They denied that we had even ordered a calzone. Thank God it was clearly marked on the receipt that a calzone had been paid for. This has got to be THE WORST Armands in the area. The food is okay and would merit at least 3 stars but jackass on the phone drops this place's ratings into the ditch.

Let me preface this review by saying, I used to work at this very Armand's location about 10 years ago as a teenage hostess. I've tasted almost every dish and continued to order food there because it's good. 4 stars for the food, 1 star for the service equals 2 stars from me. Tonight I had a horrible exchange over the phone with the manager (Lance), trying to use one of their coupons. I received the coupon last week when I was there picking up another order. First the manager said the coupon was discontinued, then he said it was for dine-in only, then after I read him the fine print, he said it was for Tuesday nights only, not Monday as the coupon says. He tells me the coupon is over a year old and not valid. When I told him I just got the coupon off of their counter last week, he said they weren't supposed to be there and "they" were supposed to throw them away. Excuse me, but as the manager, shouldn't you know there are old coupons on your counter for days, if not longer? The manager was soooo hostile and rude, when I said he was treating me like I was lying, he said, "Well people do lie about these things." What kind of customer service is this? No apology, no indication that this error would be taken care of. The person who answered the phone when I called back to speak to Lance, asked me very rudely, "Is this about the coupon again?" Do they talk to everyone that way. The pizza is good but not good enough to endure that type of treatment. I've purchased a lot from Armand's (at full price) but I won't be getting anything for a long time. Who knows, this location may have to shut down like the others.

This review has nothing to do with the quality of the food because it hasn't arrived yet.Ordered a pizza about 2 hours ago. Still not here. Pretty ridiculous for a pizza place about 1.5 miles away.

Armand's is one of our regular go-tos for dinner when neither I nor my wife feel like cooking. Their pasta is so-so--a bit heavy and unsubtle--but their salads are good and their pizza is to die for.

This place not only sucks, it downright stinks. The cheese is cold and disgusting by the time you wait 45 minutes for your appetizers. There was nothing appetizing about the appetizers. This was the second time I showed up to give this local joint a shot. What pathetic excuse for a "food oriented" environment. Lackluster, slow and unprofessional staff coupled with, frankly, disgusting food. I ordered cheese bread thinking that this pizza place could deliver something decent to start. The cheese bread was literally just cold cheese on bread. It was not toasted or warm. The pizza crust on the "deep dish" was dry and chalky. How on earth does beer take 45 minutes to reach the table along with this disgusting crap? Bottom line: I've given this place enough fair chances. Skip this, order a pizza from a chain and call it a day.

Pizza pasta and subs I ordered delivery and it was prompt. I've got to hand it to any pizzeria that gives you make your own pasta options. The deep dish is fair and everything is fairly priced I don't mind paying a few dollars extra for better food than the chain restaurants. I will definitely order from them again when in this area and the locals are lucky to have such a great escape from the normal pizza chains.

This is a great neighborhood deep dish pizza place. It takes a while to arrive, but the pizza is worth waiting for! A tip: it tastes better if you go easy on the tomato sauce. Also, parking is easier at the county lot across the street. Unfortunately, the service can be hit-or-miss. One time, our (over) enthusiastic waiter gave us Cokes to go when we left, piled on top of our leftover pizza. Another time, our server virtually disappeared and we had to get service from another waiter. You'd think it would be hard to disappear in such a small restaurant, but I guess you can.

Five stars for the pizza and two stars for the service equals three stars overall. My friend from San Diego whom I haven't seen in years was in DC for a quick stopover before heading back west the next day. She wanted to go to Armand's, reminiscent of her years she lived in Glover Park and frequented the Tenleytown location with her med school husband. I haven't been in ages and it was just as good as I remembered, but quite pricey I might say. One of the pizzas our table had was their medium (6pc) deep dish Penta Pizza. It sounds fancy, but it's just a five cheese pizza. Needless to say, it was cheesy! The price? $16.99. I guess at just under $3 per slice that's not too bad. The same-sized pizza for the kiddies which was plain cheese (3 kinds, so they say) was $13.49. It looked just as cheesy and probably did not taste much different. The beer selections are boring; Sam Adams being my choice. It was not crowded as one might expect for a Wednesday night . Do you think I could get my beer please? We ordered our first pizza, while waiting for the folks coming in rush hour traffic from Arlington to get there. It took forever for the pizza to get to us! We called our waitperson over and said we hoped she wasn't holding it until the others came. She said she did not know what was taking so long. The rest of our party made it and ordered immediately. Still no Penta Pizza! Suddenly a group of eight enter and our table service seized to exist. No refills on soda or beer. We got her attention to bring us the tab and when she arrived with it, we thought $96 seemed a bit high for three pizzas and a few drinks. Turns out she added another table's $30-something bill to ours. Oops? Not the best experience, but seeing my friend and her 11 year old daughter who is now four inches taller than me, priceless. P.S. They have a tiny parking lot, but there is a county lot across the street. It is free after 6pm.

Oh DISAPPOINTMENT. I expected REAL Chicago deep dish style pizza. I wanted to see a thinner crust and more stuffed toppings. Instead it was all bread. BAH! I then expected the flavor to make up for the lack of authenticity. Nothing... flavor was not exciting and not worth it. Not coming back EVER.

Ordered delivery four times in the past month or so. Pizza game is tight, man, TIGHT (Tuco voice)!! Seriously, though, Armands has the best (non-fancy) pizza in Silver Spring. I've experimented with the Veggie and Thai pizzas, as well as a regular cheese pizza. All have been exceptional. What may surprise you is that they have the best cheesesteak that will deliver in the downtown Silver Spring area -- best overall cheese steak in Silver Spring easily goes to Cheesesteak Mike's -- but I digress; what makes the cheesesteak so delicious at Armands is the caramelized onions and the roll they use. I prefer to have mine made to resemble a Philly cheesesteak as much as possible, with only steak, cheese, and friend-onions. I think if you just ask for a cheese steak they'll throw lettuce, raw onions, tomatoes, and even mayo on it. A short note on their garlic bread: you'll eat the whole thing in one sitting and feel awful about yourself but it's addicting after the first bite. Beyond friendly and patient on the phone when placing an order. Delivery driver always comes to the door, instead of making me go downstairs and they always are smiling -- I delivered throughout college and it can be insanely demoralizing, how they are always down for the small talk beats me. Reason I can't throw some five-star love are two small things. The fries are whack. They are beyond whack. They just shouldn't be on the menu. They are identical to your basic shoe-string, Burger King, whackadoo potato fry. I even threw them in the oven and they still sucked. Not to mention, you kind of get skimped out on fries -- lots of empty space in the container. Another small complaint was the delivery time. Maybe that's what happens when you use third party delivery services (I believe they use GrubHub from their online ordering menu) but three out of the four times I have ordered delivery, I waited literally between 80 - 90 minutes. Today, my fourth time, my order came in one hour. Like I said, I used to be a delivery driver, so I hate to complain about wait times because so many other things can affect how long your order can be brought to you but the consistently long wait times are a bit absurd. However, the taste of their pizza and cheesesteak make up for it.

Love the food !!! HATE the customer service. It used to be very pleasant to join armands for a good old pizza. Now it's not even an option since their customer service has gone to hell. One must remember what it takes to keep a business going. Customers. I'm extremely disappointed. Not even when I order delivery. Last time I was told "we only have one driver so it will get there when it gets there" uhm excuse me but I can easily call someone else. Waiting wasn't an issue. It was the answer I got. I believe the guy's name is Jack. He's so nasty to people. I work at a restaurant and I would never say that to someone. On to the next place when I'll be treated right !!!

So I was sick of getting Pizza Hut all of the time and wanted to try a local pizza shop. Well, I was disappointed. I got a thin crust with cheese and sausage on half. It wasn't cooked all of the way--it was doughy and dry on the outside. There was lots of cheese and little sauce. Now that may just be their style, but I didn't fancy it. Maybe I should have got the deep dish. I'd like to give them another chance, but it might not happen. People have recommended Ledo's; maybe that will be better.

Terrible experience! My husband and I went in late one afternoon and were the ONLY people in the place. The manager and one waiter were there.. We ordered one pizza and it took almost TWO HOURS to get our food! Again, we were the only people In the place and we were dining in! We could hear people in the kitchen yelling and joking around so we knew they were back there they just didn't feel like making our pizza I guess. The waiter blamed it on the kitchen but it appeared that he just didn't tell them to make the pizza. Then two hours and free warm salads from the buffet later we got our pizza. It was good. But not AT ALL worth the wait. I had to demand a discount for having wasted two hours of my day because our waiter didn't feel like we needed one and then only got 10% off. I think after this big of a mistake it should have just been free! We order delivery now which is usually ok. Takes about an hour which is too long considering I live a few blocks away! Overall not impressed with the terrible service

As a relatively recent transplant to the area I've been more than pleased to have one of the NON-CHAIN pizzeria's within a stone's throw. I've eaten in for lunch and had more pies delivered than I would like to admit. Solid Chicago pizza. Thick crust, deep, saucy, chock full 'o' pizza goodness with just enough crispness in the crust to lock in all of that wonderful stuff. Our dine in experience was.. just okay. Sparse service - my wife loved the cheese steak - the all you can eat lunch pizza/salad bar was being replenished as we left..... 45 minutes after we arrived (my poor choice). Delivery for us (less than 2 miles from the Silver Spring location) has never been a problem - 35 minutes tops. Parking on site can be tough, just pay the 50 cents across the street in the city lot. Kid friendly.

It's not bad pizza. But its far from good Chicago Pizza. This place cant touch Lou Malnatis, Giradanos, or UNO's (not the Chain) from Chi Town. However its better than Dominos, Pizza Hut, etc. I'm a firm beleiver that there isn't one thing that makes a pizza good. The Crust, Sauce, Cheese, and Toppings all need to be good. Nothing here stands out as being good. I live real close so I'll be back. But Mama Lucia's in Silver Spring is much better.

Our delivery pizza of choice, Armands generally gets the job done. I'd say 40% of the time it's fine, 20% of the time it's a bummer, and 40% of the time they knock it out of the park. The thin crust is all right, but the deep dish is the way to go. I get the sliced tomatoes and garlic/spinach toppings -- wonderful. Mr. X is Chicago-born and says this is some of the best he's had outside of Chi-town. We have never once graced the dining room with our presence, because delivery is just so much easier -- but plan ahead. It takes 45-60 minutes from when you call.

I used to live in Silver Spring, and this was my default pizza delivery place. Why in the world would someone order from Domi-NO!'s or Pizza Rut when she could have a thin crust Sgt. Pepper's or Harold with jalepenos instead? Delivery takes at least 45 minutes (sometimes closer to an hour), so Armand's requires forethought and forbearance. But oh me, oh my, when you want a pie... I ate in the restaurant once. I think the pizza was good, but I was too drunk for it to register.

Always get delivery. Only once was it a long wait and I was e-mailed shortly after the order was placed with a notice and option to cancel. Thai Chicken Fettucine is one of my favorites.

I hadn't had a deep dish pizza in probably 8 years but I'd been craving one. I knew about Armand's and had even read some yelp reviews but I never went because my girlfriend is Italian and usually very picky about what's good pizza. After a movie it was my turn to pick the place for dinner, so I decided it was time to finally make the visit to Armand's. We thought about getting carry out, but I didn't want my girlfriend to see my messy apartment so we dined in. The place is pretty small, a little dungy, and the decor is outdated. But so what, we were there for the famous Chicago style pizza. There were a few other patrons eating in, and others rolling in and out to pick up their orders. There was only one waiter on duty, a dopey young guy, and he seemed a little overwhelmed. We sat ourselves and I walked up to counter to grab a menu. When the waiter finally got to us and awkwardly took our order, it was clear this was a stoner who took the job for a little extra weed money and some good munchies food. The food took a little longer than I thought it should have, but it was good when it came. Our Greek salad was big, but nothing to write home about. Pretty standard fare, and the dressing wasn't anything special. Our pizza, a medium Original Chicago Combo, on the other hand, was everything I was expecting and more. This pizza was about an inch thick, packed with sausages pepperoni onions peppers mushroom and tons and tons of cheese. This thing was so good, a perfect way to pig out and have fun doing so. The crust was crispy and tasty too, but I didn't eat too much crust to save room for the beautiful combination of everything else. I had barely eaten all day, but I still was full after two slices (- the crust) and some salad. We took the rest home, and I'm excited to eat the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. All in all, it was a really good meal for a good price. The service wasn't great, and in fact was pretty crappy, and the restaurant itself doesn't look too nice, but the pizza is everything that you want it to be. Call in and take your pizza home to eat. That's what I'm going to do the next time I go here, which will be pretty soon.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

(4)Oluwole A.
Deep dish is not on par with the Chicago greats it is the best in the Silver Spring area when it comes to deep dish pizza. I have only done delivery to date with only positive experiences with staff and delivery time.
(3)Steve J.
(2)CJ T.

(2)Jeffrey H.
(3)Sujit B.
It was okay good pizza but not worth the price. Have tasted better pizza for less price. Not going to visit again. The person who helped me was very nice and polite
(3)Jeff C.
(2)Tianna S.
Always consistent. Their spinach and garlic pizza can't be beat for Chicago style deep dish. We prefer to order all our pizzas well done and I love to dip my crusts in marinara sauce. I'm so glad that one of the few locations left is near me. A MD/DC favorite!
(4)Mo O.
(4)Elizabeth M.
(1)Lashawn G.
(4)Mike L.
(5)R D.
(4)Israa A.
(1)Dc E.
(1)Carmen S.
(2)Maxine J.
(4)Natalie F.

(3)Robert M.
The pizza is pretty good... not phenomenal Chicago Style, but certainly good enough to fill any craving. Great toppings, the sauce might be lacking a kick. I like adding garlic and hot sauce at home. I went in and picked up and they have some sort of buffet. I would dig that.
(4)Tom T.
It's a chain but a good one. The sauce is very tasty. Better than other chains that are bigger. It isn't magic but it has a good flavor.
(4)Jade T.
Mmm...
(5)Christine H.

(4)Matthew B.

(1)Andrew M.

(4)Eva W.

(4)Robert B.
PLEASE!
(2)Betsy G.

(1)Furqan C.
(3)Tim M.

(1)Amanda M.
(3)Amanda C.
(2)Dave C.
Great deep dish pizza. restaurant is kinda dank, but the food makes up for it. The wings are meaty and flavorful
(4)David M.
Love ya. Peace out.
(5)Dee S.
(3)Catie T.
Their deep dish white pizza is delicious! We consider it our guilty pleasure.
(4)Brenda T.
(5)Steven A.
(2)Nix A.
(4)Jon H.
Well dig it!!!! Service is slow as hell place is extremely out dated. The beer selection is small and the restrooms have herpes. The Cesar chicken salad was slammin, the deep dish pizza was Fiya
(3)Duane E.
(1)Catalina S.
(1)Felicia A.
(2)Nick A.
This review has nothing to do with the quality of the food because it hasn't arrived yet.Ordered a pizza about 2 hours ago. Still not here. Pretty ridiculous for a pizza place about 1.5 miles away.
(1)Jan S.
Armand's is one of our regular go-tos for dinner when neither I nor my wife feel like cooking. Their pasta is so-so--a bit heavy and unsubtle--but their salads are good and their pizza is to die for.
(3)Pete T.
(1)Coast To Coast D.
(4)Gregory O.
(4)Libby F.
(3)Natasha S.
(2)Brenton W.
(4)Alexander R.
(2)Philip M.
(2)Sidney S.
